Codorus State Park WIP by Mary Beth Brath
Codorus State Park (current work in progress)
11x14" Acrylic on Canvas
I started this painting a few days ago on site (plein air). Yesterday I made a few minor changes and am almost finished. There are a couple of places that I need to soften edges and adjust saturation.
It looks like a rainy day on its way. My favorite type of weather and a light that just makes green parks and rivers look so much more intense. Beautiful work, Mary Beth!
Hello and thank you for stopping by my blog. Everytime I am at this location, it is sunny. I was actually excited that it was dark and stormy this time. I would have liked to pronounce the clouds more, but I ran out of time on location. I did finish this painting a few days ago and will post the final version soon.
Owner of Brath and Hughes Fine Art, LLC in Mechanicsburg PA. Also gallery represented at Art and Soul Gallery in Lemoyne PA. I participate in numerous solo and group shows, am accepted in juried exhibitions, won 3 local awards and have sold work across the USA. I paint landscapes and streetcapes on location (en plein air) and in my studio. I have recently added still lifes. My medium of choice is acrylic.
Grew up in Greenville Pennsylvania, married and moved to Pittsburgh for 9 years, Ohio for 8 years, and now reside in Mechanicsburg Pa. with my husband Phillip and our 4 boys. Full time professional artist and hold a B.S. in Business Administration and an A.A. in Legal Studies.

I have always enjoyed exploring the outdoors. The colors, textures and sounds seemed to beg me to capture the moment and share it with everyone. Painting is my way of bringing a smile to others and showing appreciation for all of God's creation. Most scenes are local places that I love. The paintings are always unique.
