Beech Springs Farm during 2011 Gettysburg Colony by Mary Beth Brath
In order to get a decent photo, I had to take it from an angle and use a flash. Straight on muted all of the colors and softened edges. Anyway, I kept at this painting this morning until I felt that I could move on. The gold finches visited often while I was painting on site so I had to add them in to the composition.

These gardens were so beautiful, Mary Beth - and you've really captured that. I love that you included the visiting goldfinches!
